Inspired by the do-it-yourself movement and entrepreneurial spirit they witnessed coming out of Brooklyn, Joe Santos & Emil Jattne decided to make it their home and the name sake for their portfolio of spirits. The challenge posed to Spring Design Partners was to create a new super premium Gin brand that reflects the essence of Brooklyn and engages Mixologists with its hand-crafted, micro-distilled pedigree.
How do you tell a story inspired by the past, but rooted in the present?
Inspired by the ingenuity of Brooklyn, a sometimes gritty, but always soulful borough, we crafted a visual identity for Brooklyn Gin that blends old-world craftsmanship with today’s artistic, vibrant culture. The bottle structure pays homage to the apothecary origins of gin, reinforcing its place in the new speakeasy, while the medallion label— stamped in metal—celebrates the authentic spirit at the core of the brand. Brooklyn Gin wins in the on-premise environment through a stand out design that tells a story relevant to bartenders and consumers alike.
Brooklyn Gin has won numerous international design awards including World Drink’s 2014 Best Gin Design.
